A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

The details, untangled.

What is a UTM builder?

A UTM builder adds campaign labels to a website URL. When someone follows the link, an analytics tool on the destination website can read those labels to identify the source, channel, and campaign that brought them there.

Which UTM parameters should I use?

Use utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign together. Google recommends all three, and this builder requires them for a complete link. Use utm_term for a paid keyword and utm_content to distinguish placements or creative variations.

Are UTM parameters case-sensitive?

Yes. Values such as Email and email can appear separately in analytics reports. Use a consistent case, usually lowercase, and choose either underscores or hyphens for word separators.

Do UTM links affect SEO?

UTM parameters usually do not change the content of a page, but they create additional URL variants. Use clean URLs for internal links and sitemaps, and a canonical pointing to the preferred URL on the destination page when the content is equivalent.

Can I use these links with GA4 and other analytics tools?

The builder produces standard UTM query parameters that GA4 and many other analytics tools recognize. The destination site still needs its analytics implementation. Reports and support for optional fields vary by provider.

Are my URLs uploaded or stored on a server?

The builder, CSV processor, and analyzer run in your browser. Saved links and custom presets use local storage on this device. They are not synced between browsers, and clearing site data removes them.

Should I add UTMs to internal links?

Avoid UTM tags on links within your own site. They can pollute campaign attribution and make reports harder to interpret. Use analytics events to measure internal buttons, navigation, and promotions instead.
